Summary of Results for 2022-23
The overall Ecosystem Health index for the Fitzroy Basin waterways increased from a C (Fair) to a B (good). This is related to the inclusion of new ecological indicators. Across the Basin's 11 freshwater catchments, the ecology category significantly improved compared to the 21-22 Report Card.

Ecology indicators scored mostly "Good" and "Fair" grades across the different catchments. This year, ecology data was available across all freshwater catchments. With expanded indicators the ecology category now provides a better representation of waterway health.
